The Direct Shaft System™ is the result of the conceptual design approach of d’art9. D’art9 influences the balance of the dart as a total shape. Each part of d’art9 has been redesigned, with the aim of putting the benefits of the Direct Shaft System™ to optimum use. And the result: a unique dart that flies more stably, aims better and fades less, for instance to the 5 and the 1. The stability of a dart is determined largely by the weight of the shaft and the carrying capacity of the flight. With the Direct Shaft System™ construction, the shaft enters the barrel directly, making it 40% lighter than the standard systems. The compact d’art9 flight design gives d’art9 darts better flying properties and less fading. D’art9 has considerably more space on the triples, thanks to the slimline construction, the unique characteristic of the Direct Shaft System™. The d’art9 shaft top has the same rounding as the front of the barrel; that enables the darts to be thrown close alongside each other in the triples. The shapes guide each other, an advantage that is certainly appreciated among the super league throwers.
D’art9 has subjected the Direct Shaft System™ to exhaustive testing by dart players of various levels. From the super league to the 2nd division, the advantages were close to unanimous:
less fading to the 5 and 1 (1st division, super league)
more stable flight (all classes)
more space on the triples (1st division, super league)
better placement(doubles and triples) (all classes)
The Direct Shaft System™ is a Formula 1 approach to the sport of darts. Goal-oriented, with a minimum of weight and a maximum of strength. The shaft of d’art9 is a combination of cross-woven Kevlar and Carbon. Should the shaft break, the core of extremely strong Kevlar ensures that the shaft can be removed from the barrel; see the video. How long the shaft lasts depends on the throwing technique. The shaft has an average life of 3 months. The high-tech d’art9 shafts are no more expensive than normal high-quality shafts. The advantage you gain in competitions is all the greater.
